Thousands of years ago, great brahmrishi, ‘Bhrigu maharaj’ as fondly known amongst gods, compiled horoscopes of all people who have ever lived on Earth or will ever live on Earth. Out of these, Bhrigu Samhita is oldest, rarest and least available. Apart from standard Parashari system, three rare systems exist – a) Bhrigu Samhita, b) Lal Kitab and c) Nadi Jyotish. What is Bhrigu Samhita? Is it a different kind of astrology than normal? The normal astrology known by pundits and practiced is ‘Parashari Astrology’. Whosoever can understand the depth of it gains immensely in worldly as well as spiritual context. Bhrigu Samhita is the conversation between Lord Shukra and Maharishi Bhrigu written by Lord Ganesha. This is how Bhrigu Samhita got the blessings of all Gods and Goddesses and contains the precious age-defying truthful ideals and principles. Lord Vishnu also accepted the request of great sage Bhrigu and blessed him that only Lord Vishnu but all other God and Goddess will reside in the leaves of that scripture. Goddess Lakshmi’s curse became a challenge for Maharishi Bhrigu who told her that he is determined to create an amazing book of knowledge, each leaf of which will have Lord Vishnu and His grace. However, in the process of choosing, Goddess Lakshmi felt that Maharishi Bhrigu’s behavior towards Lord Vishnu was not fair so she cursed sage Bhrigu saying that she will never ever stay in any Brahmin’s house and Brahmins will always get a secondary treatment from people with Goddess Lakshmi’s grace. His tryst with the three, Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh (hyperlink separately) is an altogether story in itself but finally he chose Lord Vishnu as the head for that yagya.
